The Chesapeake Animal Services Unit manages the Chesapeake Animal Shelter and enforces the State and City codes pertaining to animals and their ownership. Adoptable Pets: Dog adoption fees are $65 and an additional $5 for a license for Cecil County residents. This fee includes spay and neuter services, microchipping, age appropriate vaccinations, and a heartworm test. We do sell temporary leashes for $5 but, adopters are encouraged to bring their own leash, collar, and/or harness if they have one. New animals arrive at our shelter every day, so please check back frequently until you find the right match. *Animal visiting hours are from 1pm-6pm on Tuesday and Thursday-Sunday.
